ABSTRACT

AIM:To investigate the clinical effect of excimer laser in situ keratomileusis ( LASIK ) for high myopia and its effects on central corneal thickness ( CCT ) , corneal endothelial cell density, and contrast sensitivity.?METHODS: Totally 120 cases (240 eyes) in Ophthalmic Center in our hospital with high myopia were retrospectively analyzed from November 2014 to July 2016. According to the operation method, those cases were divided into LASIK group (60 cases 120 eyes), laser assisted sub-epithelial keratectomy ( LASEK ) group ( 60 cases 120 eyes ) , and treatment effect between the two groups was compared.?RESULTS: After surgery, at 1, 3, 6 and 12mo, visual acuity, refraction spherical equivalent value between the two groups were not significantly different at each time point ( P>0. 05 ); spherical equivalent refractive power were significantly improved compared with preoperative values in the two groups (P<0. 05); at 1a after surgery, the CCT, corneal endothelial cell density of the LASIK group were greater than those of the LASEK group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05). Before surgery, contrast sensitivity with 3c/d, 6c/d, 12c/d, 18c/d spatial frequency was not statistically significant between the two groups ( P > 0. 05 ); at 1a after the operation, contrast sensitivity of LASIK group with 6c/d, 12c/d spatial frequency was significantly lower than that of the LASEK group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05).?CONCLUSION: The clinical effect of LASIK on high myopia is certain, and it has little effect on CCT and corneal endothelial cell density, but it has obvious influence on the contrast sensitivity.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the therapeutic effects of acupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) on silent myocardial ischemia (SMI).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Forty patients with SMI were randomly divided into an electroacupuncture group and a medicine group, 20 cases in each group. The Electroacupuncture group was treated with electroacupuncture and Neiguan (PC 6) was selected as the main acupoint, and the other acupoints were selected by syndrome differentiation. The medicine group was treated with oral administration of compound Danshen dripping pill. The total effective rate, heart rate, blood pressure and dynamic electrocardiogram in 24 h were compared.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The total effective rate of 95.0% (19/20) in the electroacupuncture group was better than that of 75.0% (15/20) in the medicine group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the heart rate, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in the two groups were decreased significantly (P < 0.01, P < 0.05) and the electroacupuncture group was superior to the medicine group (all P < 0.05). The SMI duration and the number of ST segment depression were decreased significantly in both groups after treatment (P < 0.01, P < 0.05) and the electroacupuncture group was superior to the medicine group (P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Acupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) has a good therapeutic effect on SMI. It can decrease the heart rate and blood pressure, reduce the afterload in left ventricular and is superior to that of compound Danshen dripping pill.</p>

ABSTRACT

@#ObjectiveTo observe the curative effect of sensory integration training on children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).Methods60 ADHD children were randomly divided into trial group and control group with 30 cases in each group. Children in trial group were treated with sensory integration training besides routine medication, and assessed with Scale for Assessment of Attention Sensory Integration after treatment.ResultsAfter treatment, scores of large muscle dis-equilibrium and ill-proprioception increased obviously (P<0.01) ; scores of improper tactile defense and insufficient development of learning ability also increased (P<0.05) compared with pretreatment. The curative effect of trial group was better than that of control group (P<0.05 ).ConclusionOn the basis of medication, sensory integration training can improve the rehabilitation effect of ADHD children.

@#ObjectiveTo observe the changes of neonatal behavior neurological assessment (NBNA) and one year intellectual quotient in newborn with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy after early intervention of rehabilitation.MethodsEighty newborns with apnea combined with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy were divided randomly into routine group and early rehabilitation group with 40 cases in each group. Newborns in early rehabilitation group received rehabilitation treatment. All children were tested once with Chinese 20 terms NBNA before treatment and after 1 course treatment. After one-year following-up, Gesell preliminary assessment was used to test children's four items of intellectual development quotients, including abilities of action, responding to object, responding to human, and language.ResultsAfter treatment, NBNA scores of children in early rehabilitation group were significantly higher than that in routine group (P<0.01), and cases that NBNA scores over 35 in early rehabilitation group were more than that in routine group (P<0.05). After one-year following-up, the scores of intellectual development quotient of children in early rehabilitation group increased significantly compared with that in routine group (P<0.05).ConclusionEarly rehabilitation can raise NBNA sores and intellectual development quotient after one year in neonate with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>A study on the value of antimitochondrial antibody (AMA) and its subtypes anti-M2, anti-M4, and anti-M9 in diagnosing primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Antimitochondrial antibody was detected by indirect immunofluorescence and anti-M2, anti-M4 and anti-M9 by Western blotting. AMA and anti-M2 of 78 PBC patients, of 35 non-PBC hepato-biliary disease patients and 20 healthy controls were studied and anti-M2, anti-M4 and anti-M9 were studied in 30 of the 78 PBC patients.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>96.2% (75/78) of PBC patients were AMA positive and 94.9% (74/78) of PBC patients were anti-M2 positive. Only three among the 35 non-PBC patients were positive for AMA (one with very low titre). None of the 35 non-PBC patients was anti-M2 positive. AMA and anti-M2 were negative in all the healthy controls. Among the 30 anti-M2 positive patients, 16 patients were anti-M4 positive (16/30, 53.3%) and 4 patients were anti-M9 positive (4/30, 13.3%).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>AMA and its subtypes (special anti-M2) are important sero-immunological markers for the diagnosis of PBC.</p>
